The phone turned out to be "locked" as it didn't work when my brother put in his sim card from Asia.

Important About Unlocked Note 3 Phones

We all know that the new Galaxy note 3 is the talk of the town but some people whom want the phone but don't want to get roped into a contract will purchase an unlocked version of the phone. But before you buy the unlocked version their is some information you need to know about the different models of the phone(s). The Galaxy Note 3 was released in many country's on every continent. Although anyone can buy the phone from any country; each model was made to work on different frequencies. In this review I am going to go over each model of the Galaxy Note 3 and the services recommended for use with them.

But First everyone may be asking about the Region lock attached to the phones. Yes before the phones are unlocked their are region locks attached to the different models forcing them to only accept SIM cards from their designated country's. But after unlocked the Region locks are removed. Does this mean that all models will work everywhere, no, but I will be going over if the phone will work in your region after the locks are removed in the model descriptions below.

Second the different levels of service. Depending on your area and the service towers available their you will get different letters to indicate service level and the speed you're getting. Below are the most common levels and their average speeds in order for your reference during the Model review.

1. E = EDGE/GSM: When getting this sign you are getting the weakest signal for your phone but are still getting non-roaming signal for general calls and text. I advise if this is your areas mane signal strength you have a Wi-Fi signal avalible for the data internet conection.

2. G = 2G/GSM: When the G is showing you are getting remedial signal but still pretty strong.Read more ›

Not "Factory Unlocked" as advertised. Will not work internationally

My brother bought the note 3 N9005 with premium pricing as it was advertised by the seller as being "factory unlocked" and "international version". My brother lives in Asia and was visiting me in the U.S. for a week. The buying experience turned out to be a disaster for the following reasons -
1. Paid premium pricing for the model but still had to pay for shipping even though I am an amazon prime member.
2. The phone turned out to be "locked" as it didn't work when my brother put in his sim card from Asia. It asked for a "SIM network unlock code".
3. When I called the seller the first time, they told me that they didn't have a tech support team. And that we need to contact Samsung directly.
4. Samsung confirmed it was not "factory unlocked".
5. We also stopped by multiple electronic stores in Chicago and they all confirmed that the phone was not "factory unlocked". They could not unlock the phone as we would need a U.S. phone service provider to get an unlock code.
6. When I contacted the seller, Worldwide Distributors, they fed me some technical gibberish and asked us to buy a brand new sim card for it work (any sim card should work in a "factory unlocked" phone). Supposedly a brand new sim work would unlock the phone (didn't make sense how but we tried it).
7. We bought an AT&T sim card to test out their theory. It didn't work! When my brother would put in his sim card from Asia again, it still required a unlock code.
8. We shelled out more money to get an unlock code from the net.
We ended up paying way more and wasting 2 days to get this functional so that my brother can use it in Asia.

Also I didn't even bother contacting the seller to ask if they would reimburse me for all the additional cost we incurred to get the phone unlocked.Read more ›

BEWARE ITS SCAM! PHONE IS NOT UNLOCKED!! SELLER CANT SOLVE THE PROBLEM

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!- bought this phone after diligently reading the explanation all the information and TRUSTING THE WORLDWIDE DISTRUBUTOR-s 4 star reputation. This phone suppose to be a gift for my relative living overseas in Europe. international- I took the phone to Greece and Turkey. BAAMM phone does not work without an Unlock-Code! Emailed the Worldwide-NOT distrubutor- they gibberish something about inserting the brand new GSM chip - which we tried it did not work! Also when we try to email this company we get replies from a different company under the Straight Trader name. Weird!!! Then they ask for IME number promising they will return with an unlock code- which we did- while waiting I have returned from my trip and called them up again from the USA, the lady on the phone told me they are receiving "SIMILAR COMPLAINTS- AND ISSUES with unlocked phones being NOT - Unlocked !" she apologized and she said they will get back to me with a resolution. Next day I got an email saying " They can not resolve the issue- this phone can not be Unlocked- just send the phone back. on top of it they said they can not pay for shipping back fees international ( even though its their fault I took the phone to overseas believing that phone is Unlocked) and that they gave me only 14 days to return for refund-if phone does not reach them in 14 days they will not refund the money!!!

I CALLED AND ARGUE THEM : First of all : HOW COULD YOU ADVERTISE ON YOUR AMAZON SELLER ACCOUNT THAT THIS PHONE IS UNLOCK- AND FOOL ALL THIS PEOPLE? SHE SAID : THIS PHONE IS NOT MADE IN THE USA, AND IT IS NOT GUARANTEE THAT ALL UNLOCK PHONES WILL BE UNLOCKED IN EVERY SINGLE COUNTRY- whaaatt??
Second: HOW COULD THEY LET US PAY THE INTERNATIONAL SHIP FEES? AND IN 14 DAYS??
