The learning curve is very steep but it's worth the effort to learn how to get the most out of it.

I must say I'm astonished at all the things this phone can do. To start with it's an excellent and easy to use phone. In addition it is an incredible streaming entertainment/information device and great sounding fm radio/mp3 player. It's a little awkward to type on but it's perfect for checking email, weather conditions, and news. The gps is also remarkable and, along with google maps, it is an amazing trip planner for locating services along the way and even has "street view". I've had this phone nearly a month and find new things every day. I even had to move all the minor apps to hidden folders to limit confusion. I believe it would take a full semester class to learn how to use all this phone is capable of efficiently.
Last but not least the form factor makes it a work of art along side the vast majority of smartphones (no brick this phone).
UPDATE 4/23
The more I use this phone the more astonished I am at all the great things it can do! The learning curve is very steep but it's worth the effort to learn how to get the most out of it. It will actually work with locked SIM cards, with a few minor glitches. I find the O2 Universal SIM Card to be the best option. All functions will work perfectly and air time is roughly half what ATT charges.
Physical durability is remarkable as the aluminum frame seems to have type III anodizing (really tough stuff).

I own this Finland-made Nokia E52 and it is an alphaneumeric keypad version of the Nokia E72. It has the same robust Sybian software, same battery life, and same wifi quality. Though it has a lot of metal and glass on it, its construction is not as good as my Nokia E72 Nokia E72 Unlocked Phone Featuring GPS with Voice Navigation - U.S. Version with Full Warranty (Zodium Black). It is however a very durable, compact, and lightweight phone that I use during my morning runs when I do not want to bring a heavy device. Like all Nokia E-series phones, this device also boasts good call clarity and signal.

Pro:
-With its call quality, super long battery life, very good signal, it became the most reliable cell phone.(Its call quality is way better than iPhone, Android, and Windows phone.)
-Very good pocket size.
-The phone is very stable, I don't have any issue for the past 2 months since I get it. But you must update it to the newest firmware.
-Free GPS around the world, the GPS is fast (2-8 seconds to pickup the gps signal and start working), include text-to-speech function.
-Super loud and clear speaker at the back. (You won't be missing any call due to low volume ringtone any more)

Con:
-It's lack of touch screen.
-Screen is small.
-OVI isn't as user friendly as Apple OSX and Android.
-Camera is in mid-high quality that lack of auto-focus.

Other thought:
-I pair it with my iPod touch 4g, so that I can benefit both sides.(Best phone function and very good PDA function)with 2 batteries.
-Highly recommend if you want a reliable business phone and pair it with another multi-media or PDA device or iPad or tablet...

I love the E52! It is sleek and stylish, especially for a smart phone. Leaving out a QWERTY keyboard keeps the device small and lightweight, but all the features keep you in touch. ITU keyboard is plenty for me and leaves more room for a good screen size. Now that Nokia gives free navigation in 50+ countries on this phone it is one of the best devices ever made.

I DONT KNOW WHY THE COMPANY THAT SOLD IT THOUGHT THAT I AM SOME KIND OF STUPID.
THE PHONE WAS REFURBISHED AND NOT NEW AS THEY SOLD IT. THE SCREEN WAS NOT NOKIA. THE PHONE WAS OPENED FROM BEFORE AND SPECIFIC PARTS WAS MISSING FROM INSIDE, LIKE THE LITTLE PLASTIC COVER THAT CLEAR THE VOICE OVER THE MICROPHONE.....

I was really happy to see how many people rated this phone 5 stars on Amazon. I've owned this phone for almost a year now and have had the chance to play with some of the newer smartphones that many of my friends have. I live in the Bay Area, so I can say that I'm in the heart of tech central. I'm a strong lover of the Nokia E5x series and have owned the E50, E51, and E52 (there is a good reason why I've stuck with this series). In general, Nokia makes very solid phones in terms of build quality and parts...the problem is, they have been falling behind in the software and operating system. They were one of the big players in the early days and seem to have been modifying that model, while newer boys on the street (Google and Apple) have really built some nicer, more modern operating systems that started fresh.

You will like the E52 if you are looking for a solid phone that works great as a phone and gives you access to the necessities via applications. No, you won't find millions of apps like you do for Android or iOS, but you can find the essentials...Google Maps and Gmail, Putty (for SSH), Opera (faster web browsing, although the included one just got faster with the latest firmware update v071.004 released in June 2011...yes, they are still making improvements), PhoneTorch using the integrated flash LED, Nokia Maps for turn-by-turn and voice-guided FREE navigation, Skype, and Fring. The build quality on this device is superb.

You can read a lot of the pros in the other reviews, I will instead list here things that the general audience doesn't know about this device...things that have kept me from upgrading to an iPhone or a Samsung Andorid:

1) This phone can survive a lot.
