Smartphone Ok, but does it have to come in another language?

I received this smartphone in excellent condition. I extensively reviewed it in various serious GSM smartphone review sites. It needed to have 850MHz band, Wifi and GPS. So, this one had all of it and more. I received it in a retail box, not a brown carton like some others, which was fine. Once opened, surprise! The only mini manual is in Chinese language. I had to go to the LG website from Australia to get the manual in English! I charge it and waited. Put it in my mini-sim card and started it. Surprise! It started in Chinese! No English counter part, all Chinese scriptures! I had to figure through some trials and errors to put in in English! So the Australian manual helped quite a bit. Finally I got it started, recognized my cell service provider, OK, so far so good. When one reviews the apps one finds besides what was expected, another surprise! Lots of Chinese apps which meant nothing to me, except most were for gambling online! I had to go on Settings and erase all of that junk from my phone. It is now clean, with my data service, and rid of all those junk gambling apps, I hope. I easily loaded apps from Google Play, such as SkyMaps (Maps was included), and other apps I need for my work and hobbies. So, it's OK. Here the same phone with contract goes for $300, so I am satisfied with my LG. I have an older LG, the GT540, which still works fine. For the price and the capacity it is a fine purchase, but please, the seller must include an English manual-user guide and set the phone in English or multilanguage, customers will appreciate that.

When my Samsung Galaxy s3 got stolen and I wouldn’t spend that much money in a phone again so I went with this option and I am very satisfied. Is a wonderful phone, is fast and has a good style (and I am comparing it to the Galaxy s3) the camera isn’t the best but its pretty good at the end. The thing is: its a great phone for the price you pay!

Good phone for the price.

General:
Comes shipped for another language but that's to be expected as the P705 was intended for the Chinese market, works 100% on T-Mobile so far - Look to your carrier's website to see how to program your phone to connect to their data/MMS services, else it will not work, you must tell it where to connect - It is not a fault in the phone.

Design:
The phone is flat and square which is good because it slips in your pocket comfortably, the back isn't as 'grippy' as it seems it might be - A case or replacement back may solve this (I am used to the back of my Google Nexus 7 with it's less-than-plastic backing).The buttons don't sit out too far; just enough to identify and press when needed. The battery back is a little difficult to remove without a tool or fingernails as it does not slide off, rather than snapping on. This becomes a problem when needing to access the microSD slot which for some people may be often (Stock Android connects to your computer via MTP or Media Transfer Protocol which means it doesn't allow the same ease of use as say a thumb drive and in the case of Windows 7 makes you confirm every file you copy over that it might not work on your device. There is also software you may download from LG for the device to transfer and backup data.)

Specs, performance:
The battery is as robust as to be expected, using apps, texting and such, I find I really only need to charge every other day, but this is no problem since I rarely find myself lost in the wilderness for a week.Actual battery life varies per user and the things running and connecting of course. Don't waste your time with this phone

Many users have said that this phone does not work with Mobile data networks(3G and 2G). It's absolutely true.
I ordered the phone and ignored other comments that this phone does not connect 3G and 2G networks and ended up losing
$10 to ship the phone back. I tried the sim cards from AT&T and T-Mobile and none of them worked. Only voice worked. I do believe that the sellers are well aware of this problem but they will sell you the phone hopping that people will accept the phone as is.
Conclusion, this is what you get when you try to go cheap. You will end up wasting your time and in my case losing money.
Spend an additional $100 or $150 and you will be happy. For example, the Nexus 4 costs $300 or the iPhone 4 costs $450 which comes unlocked. You can buy the iPhone 4 unlocked directly from the Apple web site.
