Phone does not work outside of US

Amazon Verified Purchase

Phone does not contain Wi Fi and is network locked although the sim is unlocked. It also does not connect to networks using EDGE. It cannot be used outside of the US although it states that it is a GSM World Edition phone and it is unlocked.

I bought this phone for a relative in southern Africa, however he ran into problems trying to add internet to his device, other than that he stated that he is happy with the phone.
